Niche Marketing For Online Success

Hot News | Sunday May 31 2009 10:45 am | Comments Off

Making money online can be a daunting task. When you’re first setting out you need to find someone you can trust who speaks sense and give great tips on how to build an online business. Susan Owen-Thursfield at Octisage is one.

She advocates that when you’re hoping to make money online, you should ignore your instincts to cast a wide net in an attempt to grab everyone’s money. Instead of targeting a broad niche, you are more likely to find customers by drilling down within a profitable niche. You might think that by targeting a broad niche like personal development, you’d have more of a chance at success than someone who drills down in the niche for something more targeted like lose stress weight .

Not so! Whilst it is true that the number of potential prospects dwindle as you drill down into a niche. It’s also true that those who find a profitable micro niche market and expand from there are some of the most powerful marketers in today’s internet. This is because the more you hone in on your target audience, the more likely you are to find someone who is really ready and willing to spend money for a solution.

For example, someone who types the keyword golf into a search engine may just be looking for basic information – what the game is about, who won the latest tournament, or even online golf games. But someone who types in the brand name of a particular golf club is usually looking to hit the order button right then and there.

Think of your Internet Marketing empire as an inverted pyramid. Start with highly targeted narrow niche markets and build on that success. Your websites and promotional efforts can all be connected as time goes on, but you’ll find it easier to dominate a niche with one area already mastered.

A Review of Solar Power

Hot News | Sunday May 31 2009 9:43 am | Comments Off

Introduction

There may be some confusion about the term Solar Power because there are a number of systems that have been established for many years using the sun to heat water, heat ovens to cook food or heat your home either directly or indirectly. But what we are really interested in is the idea of producing electricity from the sun. That electricity can then be used for different uses not just for heating water or rooms. Technically Solar Power is any system which is powered by the sun to produce useable energy.

Making electricity really isn’t that hard so I am told. The technology is now available to convert the sun’s light into electricity using Photovoltaic cells. One company I know has developed large scale photovoltaic plants in Southern Spain, where of course there is plenty of sunshine. Panels made up of photovoltaic cells can be fixed on the roof or placed anywhere they will capture the sun. They are then connected to the electrical supply in the home and used to run the everyday appliances we depend on.

What Does Photovoltaic Mean?

Photovoltaic literally means light and electricity and the technology has been developed to convert solar energy into usable power. Basically the sun produces white light, which is just a different kind of energy; as I understand it, photovoltaic cells trap this light and turn the wavelengths into electricity. They do not need bright sunlight to operate so even on cloudy days electricity can be made due to the reflection of sunlight, and on days of light cloud energy yields are higher than in bright sunshine.

How Photovoltaic Cells Work

To make these cells produce energy you need two layers of semi-conductor material which has been adapted, so that one is positively charged and the other negatively charged. When light shines on the semi-conductor, electrons are released to produce electricity. The greater the light the more electricity is produced. The electrical field across the junctions between the layers causes electricity to flow as (DC) Direct Current. Photovoltaic cells are then joined together to make panels which are positioned strategically to capture as much sunlight as possible on or around the designated building. Once the photovoltaic cells are joined together they officially become Solar Panels.

Where to Install the Solar Panels

Once you decide to have solar panels then positioning them for optimum light and sunlight is a consideration. If you have a good roof space high enough and not shaded by trees, preferably facing south or south west, then you will probably have the ideal location. Because we live a bungalow there is a huge roof facing south on one side. Looking at the design of the roof we concluded we could have several panels facing South East, South and South West thereby capturing sunlight throughout the whole day.

Solar panels can be mounted on frames on a flat roof or the ground or even on the side of buildings. I would think the main criteria are that they are safe and stable so they won’t fall over or blow away in high winds. The solar panel we have for hot water is securely mounted on our roof with strong metal fixings.

Solar panels are produced in many shapes and sizes, some are even made as roof tiles, and there is some new technology on the horizon enabling solar panels to be incorporated into actual windows. Smaller portable solar panels can be taken on holiday when you go camping or caravanning.

There are many shapes and sizes of solar panels now produced.

Why Would You Want to Install Your Own Solar Power System?

Green Energy – Well firstly there is the issue of ‘going green’ and avoiding using carbon producing energy. There has never been a better time to do your bit to save the planet. Carbon emissions are contributing to the erosion of the glaciers which provide much of the world with drinking water. Global warming is a huge concern and if a large proportion of the world population reduce their carbon footprint then the hope is that global warming will slow to its natural cycle in the evolution of the earth.

Cost – Then there is the cost of electricity today. Utility companies are charging far too much for services and today I read in the paper that one company is not going to reduce the bills now that the price or raw materials has gone down. They plan to use the profits for re-investment! So in fact we are paying twice for the cost of re-investment.

Prices in the UK have trebled in the last year and even with less sunlight in the UK than many other countries solar power is still worthwhile to reduce the bills. During this financial crisis anything that can be done to minimise costs is of benefit. Once your solar system is up and running any excess electricity you produce can be sold back to the national grid. So instead of bills you get paid by the electrical companies for producing more than you can use.

Freedom – When I am showering using the water from my solar heating system, I have this wonderful sense of it being free hot water. I know it is not really free because we have already paid for its installation. But now it is done, it looks after itself and on sunny days there is plenty of hot water. It does not need electricity to make the water flow through the pipes so if there is a power cut we can still get hot water.

My policy over the last few years has been to put in systems that free us from the tyranny of the electricity companies and the oil barons. Without independent systems we have no choices if the powerful companies decide to put up prices or cut us off.

The most persuasive argument for me was when Russia decided to cut off gas supplies to the customers when they had a contract in place so that the people of those countries had no fuel to keep them warm during the coldest winter months. From my perspective is seemed it was all because ‘the powers that be’ wanted to flex their power muscles and increase prices to line their own pockets. None of us want to be in that position.

DIY Solar Panels and Installation

Now that we have a solar hot water heating system installed we are keen to get started on producing our own electricity. We use a great deal of electricity running 5 computers for our home based business and costs have gone through the roof this year.

There are number of e-books suggesting solar panel kits as a way to build your own solar power unit. with the results.

So why would you want to make your own solar panels and then install them yourself? Wind and Solar power systems have been on the market for years but the costs are virtually prohibitive. The cost of commercial panels makes nonsense out of the whole idea of recovering the outlay within a few years. Then there is the satisfaction of producing something to maintain our way of life with your own hands.(Rather like growing your own vegetables)

As well as making these panels for yourself and when you have become more adept at making them, there is the possibility of a lucrative business producing and installing solar systems starting with your friends and neighbours. Once they start telling their friends about the savings they are making you will find you have more orders than you can handle.

Future for our Children and Grandchildren

The ways we have used and misused our natural resources are creating a legacy for our children and grandchildren which will be, to say the least, challenging. The fossil fuels will run out in the next century and as resources become scarce and population increases there will be competition for what is left. I don’t think the world is going to be an easy place to live in and our descendents will have to adapt to a life that could in many ways, be similar to the Middle Ages in Britain or the early settler days in the US.

I won’t dwell on the possibilities of what could be, but I do think anything we can do to help establish a system using renewable energy will be the best legacy we can bestow on future generations.

A wonderful example of natural resources running out is on Easter Island. From study and research of this uninhabited island it would seem there was once plenty of trees. In fact it was completely covered in forest. The inhabitants cut down these trees as a source of fuel but also for carving images which you can still see on the island. However when the trees became scarce, instead of planting and nurturing their valuable resource, they continued to cut down the trees until there were none left. Because there was no more wood they had used up their means of survival so they all died out or possibly left. To this day it is an uninhabited island with no trees. (In New Zealand there is an oral history of the Maori people canoeing from the pacific islands to find their new land of the long white cloud. They could well have been the ones from Easter Island)

Storing Electricity or Selling Back to the Grid.

Just having solar panels is not sufficient to provide you with electricity for your requirements. Once electricity is produced there has to be a scheme to convey the correct power to the appliances. For the most basic system after the solar panel, you will need a charge controller which regulates the flow of electricity to the battery. A battery is an essential item to maintain the supply when it is dark and an inverter which is essential to convert the direct current (DC) generated by the solar panel to alternating current (AC) for use with all appliances. However by DIY the system could pay for itself within a couple of months.

Once your solar power system is up and running you could decide to just provide electricity for your own use and store any excess in deep cycle batteries. You may however prefer to sell the excess back to the national grid to offset any usage you might need over and above the production of the solar panels installed.

Solar power kits are a wonderful way of getting a solar energy system up and running so you can generate electricity for your own use and store any excess in deep cycle batteries.

Apparently there are ways of getting deep storage batteries for free in which to store electricity that you have produced, over and above your current consumption. A charge controller is advisable to monitor and control the charging of the battery and prevent it being overcharged. Careful use of the battery will extend its life and save having to replace it so often.

Selling electricity back to the national grid will require installation of several more items than the basic system uses and is a little more complicated to install. But if it offsets the cost of the electricity you do need, it might be a better system .

Will it work in the UK?

Although sunlight hours are fewer in the UK than in other more sunny climates photovoltaic cells work with light, and as mentioned earlier, they work particularly well on partially cloudy days of which there are many. We already have several solar units in the garden and I have never known them to not have enough light to work, even in winter.

Will we run out of Raw Materials?

The semi-conductor material used in the construction of the solar cells is mostly silicon. Silicon is basically derived from sand and sand is the second most copious material in the Earth’s mass. So I think it is unlikely we shall run out of raw materials.

Conclusion

Hot water powered by the sun has been in use for many years in countries where there is a plentiful supply of sun and is known as passive energy. However the development of new technology whereby light can be converted to electricity is a significant step in the evolution of civilisation.

What I don’t understand is why Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia and Bahrain don’t make more use of this technology as their location is ideally suited to solar production. Now that oil supplies are dwindling maybe they will turn their attention to other forms of electricity production and use their vast wealth to invest further in the solar and wind technology. I did read that there are plans to turn parts of the Sahara into solar power farms, and that the plan is to export a fair amount of the power produced, into Europe. This could be an excellent export opportunity for Africa.

To be completely free of electricity from the grid would be a huge bonus for me and there seems to be a small revolution going on with a ground swell of public opinion demanding the use of renewable sources to produce energy. People are getting fed up with being hostage to energy companies and are looking for ways to change the system.

It is a fact that solar power is one of the safest, easiest and cheapest ways to produce electricity for our homes. In an ever increasingly energy hungry planet, currently only 0.2% of energy comes from renewable sources and 93% comes from sources that will eventually run out. So now is the time to look for an alternative in the form of wind and solar energy to provide a very moral and ethical gift for the generations after us.

Mesothelioma Lawyer

Hot News | Sunday May 31 2009 8:10 am | Comments Off

Mesothelioma is a malignant cancer of the abdomen. It is usually caused by exposure to asbestos, an industrial product widely used in the early twentieth century. Mesothelioma cancer is most often diagnosed in the pleura, the cells lining the sacs of the chest, or the abdomen (peritoneum). Asbestos fibers can be thinner than one thousandth of a human hair and are invisible to the naked eye. The material was commonly used for thermal insulation, due to its resistance to fire and heat. Although the dangers of working with asbestos became known in the 1920s, industry continued using it until the 1970s, and in so doing exposed many people to a serious health risk.

Mesothelioma is a particularly insidious cancer, because decades can pass between exposure to asbestos and the appearance of cancerous symptoms. There is still a long way to go with regards to educating people about this type of cancer, though it has become more well known over recent years among doctors and the general public. If you or your family are unfortunate enough to be touched by this distressing disease, it’s important to seek the guidance of an experienced mesothelioma attorney so you can seek financial compensation. This needs to be done before your state’s statutes of limitations expire, leaving you and your family grieving and empty-handed. Sometimes victims are unaware of how or when they were exposed to asbestos until their mesothelioma lawyer completes an extensive asbestos exposure investigation.

A Guide To Getting a Commercial Loan

Hot News | Saturday May 30 2009 6:02 pm | Comments Off

Business loans or commercial loans are designed for a wide variety of small, medium and startup business needs including the buying, refinance or expansion of a company. Business loans are similar to a commercial mortgage in that funds can be borrowed over an extended period of time, usually a maximum of 25 years, and are secured on the property being bought.

A loan for a business can be secured against many types of freehold or long leasehold buildings, such as factories, shops, pubs, residential care homes, hotels, restaurants, offices, industrial units, blocks of flats and more. A business loan can also be secured against a residential building. The procedure is very similar to that of a commercial mortgage except that the usual maximum that can be borrowed is 60% of the assessed Market Value. However, a few lenders will let you borrow up to 75% depending upon the proposal and the security available. Interest rates on the loan are variable and depend upon the status of the borrower and the length of the arrangement.

These percentages are known as the Loan-to-Value ratio, or LTV. The lower the LTV, the lower the financial risk is to the lender. The higher the LTV, the more the risk to the lender and it is usually the case that a higher interest rate would be charged. Lenders won’t usually advance above 75% LTV to try to make sure that there would be sufficient security in the case of a forced sale, often through an auction when it is expected that property will sell at a discounted rate of up to 25% below the regular market value.

On Designing Your Own Tattoos

Hot News | Saturday May 30 2009 1:23 pm | Comments Off

Tattoos are an ancient body art that had its heydays before tattooing nearly died out. Lately tattooing has seen a surge in popularity with people from all walks of life becoming tattoo fans.

There are now incredible and amazing varieties of tattoos to choose from. It is therefore high time for you to design your own tattoo. For designing your own tattoo do not hesitate to be bold in your experimentation. Do not be afraid to merge different designs to create your own unique style. For instance one of the oldest tattoos are the star tattoos. You can combine star with plants and flowers to create your own design.

Unless you are lucky, you will be rather disappointed with the stock of tattoos displayed in online galleries. Very few have the originality you are looking for. You will be met with the same butterfly tattoos and animal tattoos. You will get an original insight only when you stay away from the tried, tested and the clichéd. And for inking one’s name is all too common.

To design a tattoo you must first think about what you want to say. If it is a message of peace, then think about the dove and how you should combine it other symbols to make your own unique statement. Remember a picture is worth a thousands words.

A tattoo will differ depending on the area of the body it is inked. It must also carry a symbolic meaning. To make a tattoo design you don’t have to be great at drawing. You just have to be good at thinking up original designs. The drawing can be left to a friend who is good at it. You can also hire professional artists to draw for you. They will draw exactly as you tell them.

The web may not be great at giving you good designs off the shelf but they are good enough to inspire in you some original thoughts. Therefore browse the web as thoroughly as possible.

How Miami Wedding Bands Can Make A Remarkable Ceremony

Hot News | Saturday May 30 2009 11:31 am | Comments Off

When the celebration is done, the the people are all gone, and all the thank you cards were mailed… what do you believe your guests will recall the most?

The food? The flowers? The cake? None of the above.

They’ll remember if they had an extraordinary moment at the wedding occasion, which is directly related to how much time they spend on the dance floor!

This is one of the most important benefits of having a great band for your South Florida wedding music. It is not all about the fantastic music, but you must have a bandleader that knows how to bring the guests in to the dance floor and keep them there!

You could have the finest performers on the planet at your wedding, but if they’re not playing the proper music at the right time, the dance floor will be empty.

You see, the bandleader is kind of like the quarterback on a football team, and the rest of them is like the team. The bandleader needs to call the right “plays,” getting everyone up to dance, and working the crowd for maximum fun!

Check out what others had to say! South Florida Wedding Band Video Testimonials.

South Florida wedding ceremonies are presented in a myriad of exotic locales, together with beaches, yachts, historic buildings, city and tropical locations. And the proper ceremony music can really set the stage for a romantic, memorable wedding ceremony and it depends on your Miami wedding ceremony music.

Talent notwithstanding, there is more to performing wedding ceremony music than a musically artistic presentation. While there may be many fantasticallygifted musicians everywhere, performing a wedding ceremony requires professionalism and a musical timing that many students have yet to achieve.

In performing music during the marriage ceremony, the musicians must be able to time the music’s tempo, start, ending, as well as be able to go into a “holding pattern” if necessary to accommodate the length and speed of the ceremony processional.

Miami wedding musicians must also be able to create a musically dramatic moment upon the entrance of the bride. This moment is amongst the most memorable at any wedding ceremony, and must be well-executed for a notable result.

Hawaii Vacation Rentals – The Best Way To Experience The Islands

Hot News | Saturday May 30 2009 8:09 am | Comments Off

When planning a vacation to Hawaii, most people hope to find a mix of value and quality in their lodging. Often, an ideal way to meet both criteria is to find a Hawaii vacation rental near the attractions or activities that you wish to participate in. These are often less expensive and provide more of a “local experience” than hotels.

Rental accommodations in Hawaii can be found several ways. You can count on a reliable travel agent to do the research for you or you can conduct the research on your own via the internet or local classified ads.

Regardless of which method you use to locate your Hawaii rental, your research should not stop when you make up your mind. It is vital that you communicate with the owner of the rental in order to insure that you share similar expectations. In general, you should ask any questions you may have about the property or your rental agreement in advance. You should also make sure that they know what to expect from you while you rent from them.

Be sure to ask, when you reserve a Maui rental, whether the rental property is near the airport and whether the access road to the property can be traveled by a two-wheel drive vehicle.

Other important factors to explore include how much rain is expect on the particular part of the island you choose, whether picking flowers from the facilities is permitted, etc. (the rental provider should have this information). The rental provider can also be an excellent source of information about tourist attractions, amenities, the level of solitude versus contact with neighbors, etc.

One of the best ways to find rental accommodations in Hawaii is by visiting http://www.greathawaiivacationrentals.com. Often, the easiest way narrow your selection of accommodations is to investigate rentals near the attractions you wish to experience. For instance, if you are staying at a Kauai rental, be sure to inquire as to whether or not the property is close to popular beaches and tourist attractions.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Working from Home

Hot News | Friday May 29 2009 9:41 am | Comments Off

Working from home is becoming more and more acceptable. I work from home and I love it. I don’t think I could ever work at a factory again, but I must face the possibility that I may have to move my business into business premises if it keeps growing like it has in the last few years. Even if parts of my business get relocated, I’ll try to stay there myself as much as I can.

Times are changing and working from home, particularly for the self-employed or contract workers is becoming more common. It is pointless paying rent for commercial premises if they are not required. Working from home has many advantages.

You can work back late without getting into strife with your family. You can “drop into the office” anytime you like. You can get up really early if the mood takes you and put in a few hours work then go back to bed. But as a marketing consultant, there is one feature I really like, all the tax deductions!

You can claim some of your household expenses on your tax return. Based on the floor area used for business purposes, you can claim a portion of your mortgage interest, insurance, rates, water, electricity, maintenance and the bulk of your telephone bill as well as depreciation on the carpets, curtains, computer equipment and so on. At the end of the financial year you will be surprised by the list of deductions.

You will also save on travel costs, wear and tear on your car and more importantly wear and tear on you, having not to deal with peak hour or public transport. Not to mention picking up approximately an extra one to two hours per day of work when you don’t have to travel.

There is a downside to working from home. The first problem is family distractions. Kids home from school at three o’clock, a friend at the front door, phone calls for other members of the family.

You also may not have the perfect workspace, or space may be limited. Work space is vitally important, you must have an area set aside purely for business, nothing else, just business. I have found that it’s best also if you can close the door on the weekends and at the end of the day so you can “leave work”.

I think many of the attitudes of people that working from home is “unprofessional” have lapsed into history. The number of major companies that allow their workers to work from home via computers has increased dramatically in recent years. “Outsourcing” has become a commonly used term and this has brought about a spate of self-employed former employees, most of them working from home.

The other problem that many people working from home suffer is motivation and discipline. You must start work everyday just as you would if you were working for someone else.

I’ve Got Some Nice Summer Travel Suggestions

Hot News | Friday May 29 2009 9:06 am | Comments Off

I’ve been thinking about where I could go with a lot of vacation attractions, but will be sensitive to my tight budget. You might put a Southern California vacation on your list. SoCal offers beaches, amusement parks, Hollywood and many other attractions.

Another possibility would be Hawaii. It’s hard to beat the beautiful warm ocean water, but it does not offer as much overall variety as Southern California. You might want to read this article by the SoCal Vacation Guru, where California vacations and Hawaiian vacations are compared. The beaches in SoCal do not have as many rock outcroppings and the sun is less intense (as is the humidity). As we noted, the Hawaiian waters are warmer, but in the middle of summer, the cooler California water can be more invigorating.

Hawaii does have an advantage with such beautiful natural countryside and vegetation, enhanced by the local Polynesian culture. But don’t forget the melting pot of many different cultures to be experienced in California, as well as the mountains, desert and coastline.

The beach is not the only attraction in Southern California. There are a half-dozen major theme parks to be visited. There are a half-dozen major theme parks to be visited. If you are traveling with a lover of thrill rides, then Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knott’s Berry Farm should be on your list; Six Flags and Knott’s roller coasters are especially noteworthy. Both offer many coasters and other fun rides. In fact, they offer more thrill rides than Disneyland, although the Magic Kingdom does include some fast attractions such as the Matterhorn and Space Mountain.

You won’t find many roller coasters in Hawaii, although surfing on the North Shore of Oahu in winter would qualify as a thrill ride. In terms of the budget, there may be great vacation specials to both destinations, but you can drive to California if airfare is too costly.

Wyoming Physician Jobs FAQ

Hot News | Friday May 29 2009 8:22 am | Comments Off

Q: Should I hire a lawyer to review my Wyoming physician employment contract?

A: In general, yes. We are not lawyers and do not give legal advice. We have reviewed many contracts and can provide you with feedback as to what we have seen as standard. The choice of a lawyer is critical. Find someone well versed in medical contract law, as well as the state’s laws in which you will practice. Try to find an attorney recommended by someone else. Also, make sure the attorney has enough time to review the contract in a timely manner. Negotiations could be hampered by a slowed response time.

Q: If I am a resident, when should I decide upon accepting a position?

A: As a general rule, the earlier the better. The more time you have to work on license applications, hospital privileges, finding a new home and moving arrangements, the less stress you’ll encounter. Many hospitals recruit for summer positions in the fall and early winter. Don’t think all of the “good” Wyoming physician jobs are taken by the end of winter. We assist physicians throughout the year because contract expirations occur throughout the year. Don’t worry. Have confidence that the right position will be available. Call us, we are here to help!

Q: Who handles negotiations, me or my recruiter?

A: Whenever possible, your recruiter should handle negotiations for Wyoming physician practiceopportunities . Having a liaison reduces the potential for heated arguments between two parties. Keep in mind, professional recruiters regularly perform this task.
